Trusting God Through Cancer:
A Collection of Cancer Survivor Stories of Faith and Hope
by Ed Adams
Blurb:
After providentially meeting Kayla Hudson, a courageous young woman who
has dealt with several cancer diagnoses, Ed Adams followed a nudge from
God and collected stories of hope from cancer survivors—including
Kayla—and their families. In each author’s unique voice, the stories
detail the survivor’s diagnosis and treatment as well as the faith,
love, and support that sustained him or her through the cancer journey.
The survivors range from Izzie Pittman, diagnosed with leukemia at just
eleven months old, to LeeAnn Lapum, who discovered she had breast cancer
in her mid-fifties after nearly twenty years of dealing with MS. This
book is relatable and encouraging for anyone who has dealt with cancer
or is currently walking through this daunting disease as each story
reminds readers that God is always with us.
Book Review
If you know someone or have had to go through the process of dealing with cancer than you know how hard faith is during this time.
Unfortunately in my life, I have watched loved ones go through this. My sister, went through breast cancer and is doing well. My mother-in-law has endured more pain and suffering than I even imagined a woman could process. First it was breast cancer then a tumor in her brain. She never showed weakness, her faith never wavered and she thanks God each day for the breath she takes.
When I first started reading this, I was emotional. The pain the parents went through watching their child suffer was awful. I couldn't imagine being able to hold myself together the way they seemed to. I noticed through everything, they trusted God would help them, comfort them and doing so eased their suffering. Their faith inspired me to be positive each day and never focus on petty things. Live life to the fullest and thank God every step of the way.
If you know someone who is struggling with faith while they are going through anything - cancer, illness or struggling with faith, recommend this book to them. Let them read the testimonies of these incredible people. Give them hope when they believe there is none.
